Considering that the prevention of corrupt practices and transfer of assets of illicit origin and the return of such assets to the countries of origin have not been adequately regulated by all national legislations and international legal instruments,

The Chairman suggested that the Committee should recommend that the General Assembly should take note of the report of the Secretary-General entitled " Preparations for the Eleventh Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice " (A/57/154) and the report of the Secretary-General entitled " prevention of corrupt practices and transfer of funds of illicit origin " (A/57/158 and Add.1 and 2).

21. At its 15th meeting, on 10 October, on the proposal of the Chairman, the Committee decided to recommend that the General Assembly take note of the reports of the Secretary-General on the preparations for the Eleventh Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (A/57/154); and on the prevention of corrupt practices and transfer of funds of illicit origin (A/57/158 and Add. 1 and Add.2) (see para. 23).
