Requests the Secretary-General to report to it at its fifty-third session on progress made in the implementation of measures, themes, recommendations and activities related to the First United Nations Decade for the Eradication of Poverty, including recommendations for possible actions and initiatives for the rest of the Decade;
" ١٣ - تطلب إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم إليها تقريرا في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين عن التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ التدابير والمواضيع والتوصيات واﻷنشطة المتصلة بعقد اﻷمم المتحدة اﻷول للقضاء على الفقر، على أن يتضمن التقرير توصيات بشأن ما يمكن اتخاذه من إجراءات ومبادرات خلال بقية العقد؛

(i) Calls upon UNHCR to continue to report on a regular basis on progress made in the implementation of measures to combat sexual abuse and exploitation.
(ط) تدعو مفوضية الأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين إلى مواصلة الإبلاغ على نحو منتظم عن التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ تدابير مكافحة الاعتداء والاستغلال الجنسيين.

(a) progress made in the implementation of measures to enable the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification to become a global authority on scientific and technical knowledge pertaining to desertification/land degradation and mitigation of the effects of drought, in particular in the establishment and operation of the Science-Policy Interface;

59. With regard the report of the Secretary-General contained in document A/52/345, which had been submitted pursuant to General Assembly resolution 50/104, she said that the report dealt with only one aspect of the resolution, namely, mainstreaming a gender perspective into economic policies, and did not cover other matters, including international cooperation or progress made in the implementation of measures called for by the General Assembly.
٥٩ - وقالت المتكلمة تعليقا على تقرير اﻷمين العام A/52/345 المقدم عملا بقرار الجمعية العامة ٥٠/١٠٤ إن التقرير لا يهتم إلا بجانب واحد فقط من القرار، وهو إدماج منظور نسائي في وضع السياسات الاقتصادية، وإنه يتحاشى جميع النقاط اﻷخرى لا سيما التعاون الدولي أو التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ التدابير التي دعت إليها الجمعية العامة.

The present report responds to General Assembly resolution 54/232 of 22 December 1999 in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to report to it at its fifty-fifth session on the progress made in the implementation of measures, recommendations and activities relating to the first United Nations Decade for the Eradication of Poverty, including an examination of the impact of globalization on the eradication of poverty.
يُقدم هذا التقرير استجابة لقرار الجمعية العامة 54/232 المؤرخ 22 كانون الأول/ديسمبر 1999 الذي طلبت فيه الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إليها في دورتها الخامسة والخمسين تقريرا عن التقدم المحرز في تنفيذ التدابير والتوصيات والأنشطة المتعلقة بعقد الأمم المتحدة الأول للقضاء على الفقر، يتضمن دراسة شاملة لأثر العولمة على القضاء على الفقر.
