A specific policy on youth is under preparation, focusing on young people and their sufficient access to information on how to protect themselves from HIV/AIDS by including the prevention of HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infection in school curriculums.

The Declaration calls for greater efforts to end the epidemic with clear and ambitious targets for 2015, outlining the concern of States that, globally, women and girls are still the most affected by the epidemic and that they bear a disproportionate share of the caregiving burden, and that the ability of women and girls to protect themselves from HIV continues to be compromised by physiological factors and gender inequalities, among others.
