The Special Committee notes that the standard rates of reimbursement for troop costs were last increased, on an ad hoc basis, in 2002, and that, following intergovernmental deliberations, the Senior Advisory Group was established in 2011 to consider rates of reimbursement to troop-contributing countries and related issues.

It is recalled that, in response to General Assembly resolution 42/224 of 21 December 1987, in which the Secretary-General was requested to report at least once every two years on the rates of reimbursement to the Governments of troop-contributing States, the Secretary-General submitted a report to the General Assembly at its forty-seventh session (A/47/776).

100. The Advisory Committee had had a preliminary exchange of views on the report of the Secretary-General on the review of the rates of reimbursement to the Governments of troop-contributing States (A/57/774).

In its resolution 67/261, the General Assembly approved the conclusions and recommendations contained in the report of the Senior Advisory Group on rates of reimbursement to troop-contributing countries and other related issues (A/C.5/67/10, sect. IV), subject to the provisions contained in that resolution.
