His delegation welcomed the progress that had been made towards the conclusion of regional nuclear-weapon-free zones and reiterated the call made in the 1995 " Resolution on the Middle East " for cooperation to ensure the early establishment by regional parties of a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the Middle East.
وأعرب عن ترحيب وفده بالتقدم المحرز نحو إكمال المناطق الإقليمية الخالية من الأسلحة النووية، وكرر الدعوة الموجهة في " القرار المتعلق بالشرق الأوسط " الصادر في عام 1995، من أجل التعاون في سبيل كفالة تعجيل الأطراف الإقليمية بإنشاء منطقة خالية من الأسلحة النووية في الشرق الأوسط.

There appears to be a general understanding, between the regional parties, of the need for comprehensive and far-reaching verification in a future nuclear-weapon-free zone.

The Council decision also called upon all States parties to NPT, in particular the nuclear-weapon States parties, to extend their cooperation and to exert their utmost efforts towards the establishment by regional parties of an effectively verifiable Middle East zone free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction and their delivery systems, in keeping with the 1995 resolution on the Middle East.
ودعا قرار المجلس أيضا جميع الدول الأطراف في معاهدة عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية، ولا سيما الدول الأطراف الحائزة للأسلحة النووية، إلى مد يد التعاون وبذل قصارى الجهود من أجل قيام الأطراف الإقليمية بإنشاء منطقة خالية من الأسلحة النووية وغيرها من أسلحة الدمار الشامل ووسائل إيصالها في الشرق الأوسط يمكن التحقق منها فعلياً، وذلك تمشياً مع القرار الصادر عام 1995 بشأن الشرق الأوسط.

9. The States parties, and in particular the depositories of the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons, reaffirm their commitment to extend their utmost efforts with a view to ensuring the early establishment by regional parties of a Middle East nuclear-weapon-free zone as a step towards a Middle East zone free of all weapons of mass destruction and their means of delivery.
٩ - تعيد الدول الأطراف، وعلى الأخص الدول الوديعة لمعاهدة عدم انتشار الأسلحة النووية، تأكيد التزامها ببذل أقصى جهودها بغية ضمان قيام الأطراف الإقليمية في وقت مبكر بإقامة منطقة خالية من الأسلحة النووية في الشرق الأوسط كخطوة نحو إقامة منطقة خالية من جميع أسلحة التدمير الشامل ونظم توصيلها في الشرق الأوسط.
