5. Elaboration, pursuant to paragraph 9 of General Assembly resolution 51/210 of 17 December 1996 and paragraph 9 of resolution 52/165 of 15 December 1997, of an international convention for the suppression of acts of nuclear terrorism, to supplement related existing international instruments.
٥ - القيام عملا بالفقرة ٩ من قرار الجمعية العامة ٥١/٢١٠ المؤرخ ١٧ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٦ والفقرة ٩ من القرار ٥٢/١٦٥ المؤرخ ١٥ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٧، بوضع اتفاقية دولية لقمع أعمال اﻹرهاب النووي لاستكمال الصكوك الدولية القائمة ذات الصلة.

His delegation noted that, apart from Article 105 of the United Nations Charter, the 1948 Convention on the Privileges and Immunities of the United Nations and the Headquarters agreements signed by the United Nations and Member States, there was no comprehensive and effective legal instrument on the matter and the related existing conventions and agreements were far from perfect or practical.
وأشار إلى أن وفده يلاحظ أنه لا يوجد، باستثناء المادة ١٠٥ من ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة واتفاقية امتيازات اﻷمم المتحدة وحصاناتها لعام ١٩٤٨، واتفاقات المقر التي وقعتها اﻷمم المتحدة والدول اﻷعضاء، أي صك قانوني شامل وفعال بشأن المسألة، وإن الاتفاقيات والاتفاقات القائمة ذات الصلة هي بعيدة عن أن تكون كاملة أو عملية.

" ١٩ - تطلب الى اﻷمين العام أن يعد تقريرا شاملا عن أثر بدء نفاذ الاتفاقية على الصكوك والبرامج ذات الصلة القائمة أو المقترحة، في جميع أنحاء منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة، وأن يقدم هذا التقرير الى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الحادية والخمسين؛

The adoption of the draft Convention would supplement the regime of related existing international instruments and further the development of a comprehensive legal framework to deal with international terrorism.
ومن شأن اعتماد مشروع الاتفاقية أن يكمل نظام الصكوك الدولية الحالية ذات الصلة ويساعد في وضع إطار قانوني شامل للتصدي لﻹرهاب الدولي.

The Assembly also decided to establish an Ad Hoc Committee (resolution 51/210), inter alia, to elaborate an international convention for the suppression of terrorist bombings and, subsequently, an international convention for the suppression of acts of nuclear terrorism, to supplement related existing international instruments (see sect. K above).
وقررت الجمعية أيضا إنشاء لجنة مخصصة )القرار ٥١/٢١٠( للقيام، في جملة أمور، بوضع اتفاقية دولية لقمع الهجمات اﻹرهابية بالقنابل، ثم اتفاقية دولية لقمع أعمال اﻹرهاب النووي، من أجل استكمال الصكوك الدولية القائمة ذات الصلة )انظر الفرع كاف أعلاه(.

Recalling General Assembly resolution 53/108 of 8 December 1998, in which the Assembly decided that the Ad Hoc Committee established by General Assembly resolution 51/210 of 17 December 1996 should “elaborate a draft international convention for the suppression of terrorist financing to supplement related existing international instruments”,
وإذ تشير إلى قرار الجمعية العامة ٥٣/١٠٨ المؤرخ ٨ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ١٩٩٨، الذي قررت الجمعية العامة بموجبه أن تقوم اللجنة المخصصة المنشأة بموجب قرارها ١٥/٠١٢ المؤرخ ٧١ كانون اﻷول/ ديسمبر ٦٩٩١ " بوضع مشروع لاتفاقية دولية لقمع تمويل اﻹرهاب استكمالا للصكوك الدولية القائمة ذات الصلة " ،

64. The results of these assessments by the competent international organizations 44/ will be very important for the preparation of the comprehensive report for the fifty-first session of the General Assembly, which the Secretary-General was requested to prepare in paragraph 19 of resolution 49/28, on the impact of the entry into force of the Convention on related existing or proposed instruments and programmes.
٦٤ - وستكون نتائج التقييمات التي تجريها المنظمات الدولية المختصة)٤٤( بالغة اﻷهمية فيما يتعلق بإعداد التقرير الشامل للدورة الحادية والخمسين للجمعية العامة، الذي طلب من اﻷمين العام، في الفقرة ١٩ من القرار ٤٩/٢٨، أن يعده بشأن آثار بدء نفاذ الاتفاقية على الصكوك والبرامج ذات الصلة القائمة أو المقترحة.
