The Committee should urgently explore ways and means of alleviating the adverse effects of sanctions on third States and their civilian populations.

85. The Special Committee on the Charter should continue to give priority to the issue of the implementation of the provisions of the Charter relating to assistance to third States affected by the application of sanctions, in order to speed up the search for solutions in that area.
