1. The Conference of the Parties may, in principle in its ordinary session, and as necessary, appoint ad hoc panels to provide it, through the Committee on Science and Technology, with information and advice on specific issues regarding the state of the art in fields of science and technology relevant to combating desertification and mitigating the effects of drought.
١ - يجوز من حيث المبدأ أن يقوم مؤتمر اﻷطراف، في دورته العادية وحسبما يقتضيه اﻷمر، بتعيين أفرقة مخصصة لتوافيه، عن طريق لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، بالمعلومات والمشورة بشأن قضايا محددة تتعلق بآخر ما وصل إليه التقدم في ميادين العلم والتكنولوجيا المتصلة بمكافحة التصحر وتخفيف آثار الجفاف.

1. The Conference of the Parties may, as necessary, appoint ad hoc panels to provide it, through the Committee on Science and Technology, with advice on specific issues regarding the state of the art in fields of science and technology relevant to combating desertification and mitigating the effects of drought.
١- يجوز لمؤتمر اﻷطراف، حسبما يقتضيه اﻷمر، أن يعين أفرقة مخصصة لتوافيه، عن طريق لجنة العلم والتكنولوجيا، بالمشورة بشأن قضايا محددة تتعلق بآخر ما وصل إليه التقدم في ميادين العلم والتكنولوجيا المتصلة بمكافحة التصحر وتخفيف آثار الجفاف.

(f) Exchange and make fully, openly and promptly available information from all publicly available sources relevant to combating desertification and mitigating the effects of drought; and

It shall be composed of government representatives competent in fields of expertise relevant to combating desertification and mitigating the effects of drought.

13. Article 24, paragraph 3 of the Convention provides that the Conference of the Parties " may, as necessary, appoint ad hoc panels to provide it, through the Committee, with information and advice on specific issues regarding the state of the art in fields of science and technology relevant to combating desertification and mitigating the effects of drought.

Article 24, paragraph 3, of the Convention provides for the creation of ad hoc panels, as necessary, by the COP in order to provide it, through the CST, with information and advice on specific issues regarding the state of the art in the fields of science and technology relevant to combating desertification and mitigating the effects of drought.
