25. The Advisory Committee was informed that the resources of $437,000 approved under section 34, Construction, alteration, improvement and major maintenance, of the programme budget for the biennium 2012-2013, were meant to cover the first phase of the renovation of Africa Hall.

Section II of the present report provides an update on the construction of additional office facilities at the Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa since the previous report of the Secretary-General (A/65/351). The Advisory Committee notes that the first phase of the renovation of Africa Hall has commenced, including urgent structural tasks such as roof waterproofing, perimeter wall repair and replacement of outdated plumbing and electrical systems, from resources under the approved programme budget for the biennium 2012-2013 for ECA, and that the waterproofing of the terrace and roof slab works have been completed (see A/67/216, para. 45).
