Background: The CMP, by its decision 31/CMP.1, requested the secretariat to organize a workshop on reporting methodologies on ways to minimize adverse social, environmental and economic impacts on developing country Parties of the implementation of policies and measures by Annex I Parties in achieving their quantified emission limitation and reduction commitments under Article 3, paragraph 1, of the Kyoto Protocol.
