ومع اﻹعراب عن التقدير للجهود اﻹنسانية التي بذلها اﻷفراد العراقيون ﻹنقاذ أرواح البحارة اﻹيرانيين، فإن وزارة خارجية جمهورية إيران اﻹسلامية تنتظر من حكومة جمهورية العراق أن تتخذ التدابير العاجلة اللازمة ﻹطلاق سراحهم في أقرب وقت ممكن. ــ ــ ــ ــ ــ

While strongly protesting against the above-mentioned act of hostility and stressing that such hostile acts create tension and jeopardize the safety and security of navigation in the region, the Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran expects the Government of the Republic of Iraq to understand the ongoing situation in the region and prevent a recurrence of such incidents in the future.
وإذ تحتج حكومة جمهورية إيران الإسلامية بشدة على هذا التصرف العدائي، وتؤكد أن مثل هذه الأفعال يدفع إلى زيادة التوتر في المنطقة ويعرض للخطر سلامة وأمن الملاحة فيها، فإنها تتوقع من حكومة جمهورية العراق أن تتفهم الأحوال الجارية في المنطقة وأن تحول دون تكرار وقوع هذه الحوادث في المستقبل.
