In those organizations where rules provide for air travel as the official mode, it is indicated however that an alternative means may be approved in the interest of the organization, or at the request of the staff member.
وفي المنظمات التي تنص قواعدها على أن يكون السفرُ جواً واسطةَ النقل الرسمية، يبيَّن مع ذلك أنه يجوز اعتماد واسطة بديلة توخياً لمصلحة المنظمة، أو بناءً على طلب الموظف.

(b) The Secretary-General may, in exceptional and compelling circumstances, and if the request of the staff member is supported by a detailed justification in writing, authorize an advance for any reason other than those enumerated above.
)ب( يجوز لﻷمين العام، في ظروف استثنائية وقاهرة، أن يأذن بصرف سلفة ﻷي سبب آخر غير اﻷسباب المعددة أعلاه، إذا طلب الموظف ذلك وكان طلبه مدعما بتبرير كتابي مفصﱠل.
