The Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), at its twenty-third session, requested the secretariat to prepare a synthesis report, based on the reports of the regional workshops, highlighting common themes and issues as a way of providing broader insights into the results of the workshops, for consideration at its twenty-fifth session.

The discussion on the process covered issues such as the focus and need for such workshops in the future, their relationship with the technical paper to be prepared by the secretariat, the possible need for additional views from Parties and how to feed the results of the workshops into the negotiating process under the ad hoc working groups.
وتناولت المناقشات المتعلقة بهذه العملية عدة مسائل، منها التركيز على حلقات العمل هذه والحاجة إليها مستقبلاً، وعلاقة حلقات العمل بالورقة التقنية المقرر أن تعدها الأمانة()، والحاجة المحتملة لتلقي مزيد من الآراء من الأطراف وكيفية إدماج نتائج حلقات العمل في عملية التفاوض في إطار أفرقة العمل المخصصة.

At that session of the Commission, it was noted that the potential for exchange of information provided by the congresses could be enhanced by ensuring a more focused formulation of the subjects to be covered by the workshops, by providing for more interaction between experts and delegations and by using the results of the workshops as input for the discussion of substantive items.
ولوحظ في دورة اللجنة أن إمكانية تبادل المعلومات التي وفّرها المؤتمر يمكن أن تعزز بضمان صياغة أكثر تركيزا للمواضيع التي تغطيها حلقات العمل، وذلك بتوفير مزيد من التفاعل بين الخبراء والوفود وباستخدام نتائج حلقات العمل كمدخل في مناقشة البنود الموضوعية.()

(ز) التعاون مع اللجنة المعنية بسواتل رصد الأرض من خلال مشاركة المكتب في الجلسة العامة السادسة عشرة التي عقدت في فراسكاتي، ايطاليا، في يومي 20 و21 تشرين الثاني/نوفمبر 2002، حيث أعطيت اللجنة معلومات موجزة عن نتائج حلقات العمل حول استخدام تكنولوجيا الفضاء في تدبّر الكوارث، التي شاركت اللجنة في رعايتها وتنظيمها في عام 2002.
