The Ad Hoc Group also considered a system of measures to promote compliance with the Convention, including, as appropriate, measures identified, examined and evaluated in the report of the Ad Hoc Group of Governmental Experts to Identify and Examine Possible Verification Measures from a Scientific and Technical Standpoint (VEREX).

Romania therefore supported the decision taken by the 1991 Third Review Conference of the biological weapons Convention to establish an Ad Hoc Group of Governmental Experts to identify and examine potential verification measures from a Scientific and Technical Standpoint (VEREX).
لذا فقد أيدت رومانيا القرار المتخذ في مؤتمر ١٩٩١ الاستعراضي الثالث لاتفاقية اﻷسلحة البيولوجية بإنشاء فريق من الخبراء الحكوميين مخصص لتحديد ودراسة تدابير التحقق المحتملة من وجهة النظر العلمية والتقنية.

The Third Review Conference of the parties to the Convention, held in 1991, decided to begin its work with a view to strengthening the provisions of the Convention. An Ad Hoc Group of Governmental Experts of States Parties to the Convention was established to identify and examine potential verification measures from a Scientific and Technical Standpoint.

From the Scientific and Technical Standpoint there are no serious obstacles to the building of such repositories and several countries have done so or are preparing to do so. Nor are there usually any financial problems connected with the disposal of radioactive waste from civilian activities, as these are accustomed to carrying the cost of disposal.
ومن وجهة النظر العلمية والتقنية ليست هناك عقبات خطيرة تحول دون بناء مثل هذه المستودعات، وثمة بلدان عديدة سبق لها أن فعلت ذلك أو أنها تعد نفسها لفعل ذلك ولا توجد، عادة، أية مشاكل مالية تتصل بالتخلص من النفايات المشعة من جانب الجهات التي تقوم بأنشطة مدنية، نظرا ﻷن هذه الجهات اعتادت أن تتحمل تكلفة التخلص من تلك النفايات.
