The General Committee decided to recommend that the General Assembly should include the item entitled “Admission of the International Seabed Authority to membership in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund” in the agenda of the current session and that the item should be allocated to the Fifth Committee.

At its 52nd meeting, on 24 November 1997, the General Assembly decided, on the recommendation of the General Committee, to include in the agenda of its fifty-second session the item entitled “Admission of the International Seabed Authority to membership in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund” and to allocate it to the Fifth Committee.

3. For its consideration of the item, the Committee had before it a note by the Secretary-General on admission of the International Seabed Authority to membership in the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (A/C.5/52/26).
