The second presentation was on medium- and long-term adaptation in LDCs, based on a LEG technical paper aimed at providing technical advice and guidance on the identification of medium- and long-term adaptation needs, their integration into development planning, and the implementation of identified adaptation activities in LDCs.
34- وتناول العرض الثاني التكيف في الأجلين المتوسط والطويل في أقل البلدان نمواً، واستند إلى ورقة تقنية لفريق الخبراء المعني بأقل البلدان نمواً أُعِدّت لأغراض إسداء المشورة والإرشادات التقنية فيما يتعلق بتحديد احتياجات التكيف في الأجلين المتوسط والطويل، وإدماجها في خطط التنمية، وتنفيذ أنشطة التكيف المحددة في أقل البلدان نمواً.

47. In the second presentation, the relationship between poverty and human rights was explored and a human rights-based approach to poverty reduction strategies was proposed which: (a) takes into account both a moral value and a legal obligation; (b) seeks to empower people; (c) is based on the human rights obligations of States; (d) promotes accountability; and (e) complies with human rights principles.
