According to the Secretary-General, in late 2007, as part of its commitment to the systematic strengthening of leadership throughout the United Nations system, the Secretariat participated in the pilot of the inter-agency Senior Management Network leadership development programme, which is a key component of the proposals for the establishment of the Senior Management Network.
