I commend the Lebanese, and particularly Prime Minister Seniora for his wise and farsighted initiative and approach, which seeks to address not just the issue of the Palestinian arms, but also the living conditions and status of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon, without prejudice to an eventual overall resolution of the Palestinian refugee problem.
وأُثني على اللبنانيين، وبوجه خاص على رئيس الوزراء السنيورة لحكمته ونهجه ومبادرته المتبصرة التي لا تسعى فقط إلى معالجة السلاح الفلسطيني وإنما تتناول أيضا الأحوال المعيشية للاجئين الفلسطينيين في لبنان وأوضاعهم، دون أن يمس ذلك بأي حل شامل محتمل لمشكلة اللاجئين الفلسطينيين.

37. Prime Minister Seniora has also informed me of a recent increased deployment of the Lebanese Armed Forces along the border with the Syrian Arab Republic for the purpose of halting the illegal transfer of arms and people.
37 - وأبلغني رئيس الوزراء السنيورة أيضا بزيادة أُجريت مؤخرا في نشر القوات المسلحة اللبنانية على طول الحدود مع الجمهورية العربية السورية لغرض وقف النقل غير المشروع للأفراد والأسلحة.

42. In this context, I have also taken particular note of Prime Minister Seniora's " call on the Syrian leadership to practice in this case the necessary self-restraint through its ties with Palestinian factions. "

44. On 8 October 2005, Prime Minister Seniora conducted historic talks, the first of their kind, with representatives of Palestinian groups in Lebanon on the issue of their arms.
