It also requested the Secretariat, among other things, to continue to follow the development of the ship recycling convention and to report thereon to the Openended Working Group at its seventh session and to the Conference of the Parties at its tenth meeting.

(b) An assessment of the expected level of control and enforcement to be provided by the draft ship recycling convention in its entirety and its comparison with (a);

1. Encourages Parties to respond, by 31 January 2008, to the invitation issued by the Conference of the Parties at its eighth meeting to provide comments to the Secretariat on issues such as roles and responsibilities in the draft ship recycling convention and those relevant to the Basel Convention, including:

(a) To develop criteria for assessing whether the ship recycling convention as adopted establishes an equivalent level of control as that established under the Basel Convention, taking into account the comments previously submitted by Parties on issues such as roles and responsibilities under the ship recycling convention and those relevant to the Basel Convention;
(أ) أن يضع معايير لتقييم ما إذا كانت اتفاقية إعادة تدوير السفن بصورتها المعتمدة تضع مستوى من الرقابة مساوياً للمستوى الموضوع في اتفاقية بازل، مع مراعاة التعليقات التي سبق أن قدمتها الأطراف بشأن مسائل من قبيل الأدوار والمسؤوليات بموجب اتفاقية إعادة تدوير السفن وتلك المتصلة باتفاقية بازل؛

(a) How to avoid duplication of regulatory instruments if the assessment referred to in paragraph 3 above to be carried out by the Conference of the Parties at its tenth meeting indicates that the ship recycling convention as adopted establishes an equivalent level of control as that established under the Basel Convention;
(أ) كيفية تجنب تكرار الصكوك التنظيمية إذا تبين من التقييم المشار إليه في الفقرة 3 أعلاه الذي يجريه مؤتمر الأطراف في اجتماعه العاشر أن اتفاقية إعادة تدوير السفن بصورتها المعتمدة تضع مستوى من الرقابة مساوياً للمستوى الموضوع في اتفاقية بازل؛

By its decision VIII/11 on environmentally sound management of ship dismantling, the Conference of the Parties, at its eighth meeting, invited Parties to provide comments to the Secretariat on issues such as roles and responsibilities in the draft ship recycling convention being developed in the International Maritime Organization and those relevant to the Basel Convention, including:
