It had signed the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of AntiPersonnel Mines and on Their Destruction, and had participated in a campaign to end the suffering caused by anti-personnel mines that killed and maimed hundreds of people every week, most of whom were innocent and defenceless.
فقد وقعت اتفاقية حظر استعمال وتخزين وإنتاج ونقل الألغام المضادة للأفراد وتدمير تلك الألغام، وشاركت في حملة لإنهاء المعاناة التي تتسبب فيها الألغام المضادة للأفراد التي تقتل وتشوه أطراف آلاف الأشخاص كل أسبوع، معظمهم من الأبرياء والعُزَّل.

We were pleased to join the more than 100 countries which have signed the Convention on the Prohibition of the Use, Stockpiling, Production and Transfer of Anti-Personnel Mines and on Their Destruction, which we have also now ratified.
وقد أسعدنا أن ننضم إلى أكثر من مائة بلد وقعت على اتفاقية حظر استعمال وتخزين وإنتاج ونقل اﻷلغام المضادة لﻷفراد، وتدمير تلك اﻷلغام، وقد صدقنا عليها أيضا.
