The Secretary-General has the honour to transmit to the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-seventh session the report of the Board of the United Nations Research Institute for Social Development, which covers the period from 1997 to 1998.

10. By paragraph 8 of the draft resolution, the Council would recommend that the report of the Conference be submitted to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session through the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-seventh session.

At the 2nd meeting, on 2 February, the representative of Spain introduced a draft decision entitled “Participation of non-governmental organizations accredited to the World Summit for Social Development in the work of the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-seventh session” (E/1999/L.3).
١٣ - في الجلسة ٢، المعقودة في ٢ شباط/فبراير، عــرض ممثـل اسبانيا مشروع مقــرر بعنـوان " مشاركة المنظمات غير الحكومية المعتمدة لدى مؤتمر القمة العالمي للتنمية الاجتماعية في أعمال لجنة التنمية الاجتماعية في دورتها السابعة والثلاثين " )E/1999/L.3(.

The complete report of the Conference is available under the symbol WCMRY/1998/28 and, pursuant to the requests of the Assembly and the Council, will be made available to the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-seventh session and the Assembly at its fifty-fourth session.

2. A report on the preliminary assessment of the implementation of the outcome of the Summit was submitted by the Secretary-General to the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-seventh session, in February 1999 (E/CN.5/1999/4).
٢ - وقدم اﻷمين العام إلى لجنة التنمية الاجتماعية في دورتها السابعة والثلاثين المعقودة في شباط/فبراير ٩٩٩١ تقريرا عن التقييم اﻷولي لتنفيذ نتائج مؤتمر القمة العالمي للتنمية الاجتماعية (E/CN.5/1999/4).

It is based on the report of the Secretary-General on further initiatives for the implementation of the outcome of the Summit (E/CN.5/1999/3), prepared for the consideration of the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-seventh session, in February 1999, and has been revised in the light of discussions that took place during the Commission.
وهو يستند إلى تقرير اﻷمين العام عن مبادرات إضافية لتنفيذ نتائج مؤتمر القمة (E/CN.5/1999/3) الذي أعد كيما تنظر فيه لجنة التنمية الاجتماعية في دورتها السابعة والثلاثين في شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٩، والذي نُقح في ضوء المناقشات التي دارت في اللجنة.

13. The Secretary-General submitted two reports on the subject — to the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-seventh session in February 1999 (E/CN.5/1999/3), and to the Preparatory Committee at its first substantive session, in May 1999 (A/AC.253/8).
١٣ - قدم اﻷمين العام تقريرين عن هذا الموضوع إلى لجنة التنمية الاجتماعية في دورتها السابعة والثلاثين التي عقدت في شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٩ )(E/CN.5/1999/3 وإلى اللجنة التحضيرية في دورتها الموضوعية اﻷولى التي عقدت في أيار/ مايو ١٩٩٩ (A/AC.253/8).

In the context of the preparatory process of the special session, two reports of the Secretary-General on the preliminary assessment of the implementation of the outcome of the Summit (E/CN.5/1999/4 and A/AC.253/7) had already been submitted to and discussed by the Commission for Social Development at its thirty-seventh session, in February 1999, and the Preparatory Committee at its first session, in May 1999, respectively.
