After the adoption of the Protocol in November 2003, the Working Group on Explosive Remnants of War had continued its work by focusing on study of the application of the existing principles of international humanitarian law and possible preventive technical measures to improve the design of certain specific types of munitions in order to prevent them from becoming explosive remnants of war.
