25. As States parties to the Treaty of Tlatelolco, establishing a nuclear-weapon-free zone in the region, CARICOM encouraged other States to establish similar zones.

She called on nuclear-weapon States to respect unconditionally the denuclearization status of the States parties to the Treaty of Tlatelolco and to withdraw the interpretative declarations made upon signature or ratification of its Protocols I and II. Nuclear-weapon-free zones made a leading contribution to the disarmament and nonproliferation regime and were a positive factor in international peace and security.
وقالت إنها تدعو الدول الحائزة للأسلحة النووية إلى أن تحترم بدون قيد أو شرط مركز الدول الأطراف في معاهدة تلاتيلولكو بوصفها منطقة لانووية، وإلى سحب بياناتها التفسيرية التي قدمتها عندما وقّعت أو صدقت على البروتوكولين الأول والثاني. وأضافت أن المناطق الخالية من الأسلحة النووية تقدم إسهاما رائدا في نظام نزع السلاح وعدم الانتشار، وهي عامل إيجابي في تحقيق السلم والأمن الدوليين.
