States are further required to take steps to eliminate prejudices and change practices which are based on the idea of the inferiority or superiority of either of the sexes or on stereotyped roles for men and women.
ويتعين على الدول كذلك أن تقوم بخطوات للقضاء على التحيزات والعادات العرفية وكل الممارسات الأخرى القائمة على الاعتقاد بكون أي من الجنسين أدنى أو أعلى من الآخر، أو على أدوار نمطية للرجل والمرأة().

The Committee emphasizes that article 5 of the Convention stipulates that all appropriate measures to modify the social and cultural patterns of conduct of men and women be taken, with a view to the elimination of prejudices and customary and all other practices that are based on stereotyped roles for men and women.
