The present report has been submitted pursuant to paragraph 9 of General Assembly resolution 59/272, in which the Assembly requested the Secretary-General to submit annually to the Assembly a report under the agenda item entitled " Review of the efficiency of the administrative and financial functioning of the United Nations " addressing the measures aimed at strengthening accountability in the Secretariat.
1 - يقدم هذا التقرير عملا بالفقرة 9 من قرار الجمعية العامة 59/272، 2004، الذي طلبت فيه الجمعية إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إلى الجمعية تقريرا سنويا، في إطار بند جدول الأعمال المعنون " استعراض كفاءة الأداء الإداري والمالي للأمم المتحدة " ، يعالج التدابير الهادفة إلى تعزيز المساءلة في الأمانة العامة.

2. The General Assembly also requested the Secretary-General to submit annually a report on measures implemented that were aimed at strengthening accountability in the Secretariat (resolution 59/272).
2 - كما طلبت الجمعية العامة إلى الأمين العام أن يقدم إليها تقريرا سنويا عن التدابير المنفذة بهدف تعزيز المساءلة في الأمانة العامة (القرار 59/272).

5. Reaffirms its commitment to strengthening accountability in the Secretariat and the accountability of the Secretary-General to Member States and the achievement of results, and urges the Secretary-General to further strengthen consultation with the oversight bodies with a view to ensuring accountability in the Secretariat;
5 - تعيد تأكيد التزامها تعزيز المساءلة في الأمانة العامة ومساءلة الأمين العام أمام الدول الأعضاء وتحقيق النتائج، وتحث الأمين العام على مواصلة تعزيز التشاور مع هيئات الرقابة بما يكفل المساءلة في الأمانة العامة؛
