Pursuant to ECOSOC resolution 2002/37, an open-ended working group is being established by the Commission to analyse ways and means of improving the role and participation of the Commission in the recommendation and policy-making process of the United Nations system on science and technology (S & T) issues, with the aim of working towards the strengthening of the Commission.
