Background:: The COP, by its decision 7/CP.11, requested the secretariat to organize a centralized review of fourth national communications, submitted in accordance with decision 819/CP.84, and to conduct an in-country, in-depth review of the fourth national communications for those Parties that request one.

The SBI took note of the report on the status of submission and review of the initial reports submitted in accordance with decision 13/CMP.1 and the annual information required under Article 7 of the Kyoto Protocol.

To consider at the thirty-third meeting of the Open-ended Working Group whether to ask the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel to undertake an analysis of trends in Article 7 data on methyl bromide use for quarantine and pre-shipment, taking into account the information submitted in accordance with decision XXIII/5 and how to improve the information;

The COP, by decision 33/CP.7, requested the secretariat to prepare the compilation and synthesis of national communications submitted in accordance with decision 11/CP.4 for consideration at its eighth session. The Subsidiary Body for Implementation (SBI), at its sixteenth session, noted that, owing to delays in the submission of national communications, the compilation and synthesis report would be prepared for the eighteenth session of the SBI.
وطلب مؤتمر الأطراف في مقرره 33/م أ-7 أن تعد الأمانة تجميع وتوليف البلاغات الوطنية المقدمة وفقاً للمقرر 11/م أ-4 لينظر فيها في دورته الثامنة(2) ولاحظت الهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ في دورتها السادسة عشرة أنه نظراً للتأخير في تقديم البلاغات الوطنية، سوف يُعَدُ تقرير التجميع والتوليف لتقديمه للدورة الثامنة عشرة للهيئة الفرعية للتنفيذ(3).
