وبناء على الاحتياجات الفعلية لﻷمم المتحدة من مختلف العملات، تم قبول المبالغ المعادلة بدولار الولايات المتحدة للمدفوعات التالية بتلك العملات فيما يتعلق بفترتي السنتين ١٩٩٦-١٩٩٧ و ١٩٩٤-١٩٩٥:

In respect of such currencies, the financial statements shall reflect the cash, investments, unpaid pledges and current accounts receivable and payable in currencies other than United States dollars, translated at the applicable United Nations rates of exchange in effect as at the date of the statements.
وفيما يتصل بتلك العملات فإنه يلاحظ أن البيانات المالية تعكس الرصيد النقدي والاستثمار والتبرعات غير المدفوعة وحسابات القبض الجارية التي تدفع بعملات خلاف دولارات الولايات المتحدة، على أساس أنها محولة وفقا ﻷسعار الصرف السائدة في اﻷمم المتحدة في تاريخ وضع البيانات.

24. The Agency does not consider it prudent owing to the volatility in the currency market, to convert United States dollars into other currencies combined with forward contracts for the sole purpose of earning a higher rate of interest on deposits in such currencies.
٢٤ - ترى الوكالة أنه، نظرا للتقلبات الشديدة في سوق العملات، فليس من الحكمة تحويل دولارات الولايات المتحدة إلى عملات أخرى ترتبط بعقود آجلة لغرض وحيد هو الحصول على سعر فائدة أعلى على الودائع بهذه العملات اﻷخرى.

For other currencies, the exchange rates used are the average rates in effect for the month of August 1990 for such currencies.
وأما بالنسبة إلى العملات الأخرى، فإن أسعار الصرف المعمول بها هي متوسط أسعار الصرف السائدة لتلك العملات في شهر آب/أغسطس 1990(52).

Exchange rate and inflation rate movements between such currencies and the dollar can therefore have a sizeable impact on the calculation of the cost adjustment.
لذلك يمكن أن يكون لتحركات أسعار الصرف ومعدلات التضخم بين تلك العملات والدولار أثر كبير على حساب تعديلات التكاليف.
