The Special Unit for South-South Cooperation of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is developing a United Nations system-wide collaborative framework for the provision of support to South-South cooperation, which spells out clear lines of accountability and clarifies responsibilities between the Special Unit and the rest of UNDP.

200. In paragraph 48 of its resolution 62/208, the General Assembly reaffirmed the increased importance of South-South cooperation, and in that regard, encouraged the funds, programmes, specialized agencies and other entities of the United Nations system to mainstream support to South-South cooperation and triangular cooperation to help developing countries.

Country ROARs indicate that South-South cooperation has now been integrated into UNDP country programmes worldwide: in 2011, reports show that support to South-South cooperation has taken place in 645 of 995 country outcomes in 152 countries.
