1. First and foremost, alternative development, which in the context of the Thai experience is referred to as " sustainable alternative livelihood development " , must be people-centred.
1- في المقام الأول، يجب أن تكون التنمية البديلة، التي يشار إليها في سياق التجربة التايلندية بعبارة " تنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة " ، نهجا محوره الناس.

1. First and foremost, alternative development, which in the context of the Thai experience is referred to as " sustainable alternative livelihood development " , must be people-centred.
1 - في المقام الأول، يجب أن تكون التنمية البديلة، التي يشار إليها في سياق التجربة التايلندية بعبارة " تنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة " ، نهجا محوره الناس.

1 - في المقام الأول، يجب أن يكون تركيز عملية إيجاد البدائل، التي يشار إليها في سياق التجربة التايلندية بعبارة " تنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة " ، على الناس.

4. When applying sustainable alternative livelihood development in the context of drug control, the eradication of illicit crops should not be the only immediate goal.
4 - ولا ينبغي أن يكون القضاء على المحاصيل غير المشروعة الهدف المباشر الوحيد عند تطبيق مفهوم تنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة في سياق مكافحة المخدرات.

Livelihood diversification is in fact a major success factor in sustainable alternative livelihood development (single-crop solutions are rarely sustainable).
كما إن تنويع مصادر الرزق يعد في الواقع عامل نجاح رئيسيا في تنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة (فالحلول القائمة على محصول واحد قلما تكتب لها الاستدامة).

ويعد تنويع مصادر الرزق في الواقع عامل نجاح رئيسيا في تنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة (فالحلول القائمة على محصول واحد قلما تكتب لها الاستدامة).

11. Ultimately, the key to sustainable alternative livelihood development is community ownership, where capacities and economic activities have been developed to such an extent that the communities can become owners in their ventures instead of serving only as contract farmers or employees.
11 - وفي نهاية المطاف، يتمثل السبيل الأساسي لتنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة في تولي المجتمعات المحلية زمام أمور المشاريع، حيث تتطور القدرات والأنشطة الاقتصادية إلى الحد الذي تصبح فيه المجتمعات المحلية هي المالكة لمشاريعها بدلا من العمل فيها كمجرد مزارعين أو موظفين متعاقدين.

2. The main objective of sustainable alternative livelihood development is to transform poor and vulnerable communities, especially in rural areas, from social and economic dependency or sub-sufficiency to full socio-economic sufficiency, in a participatory manner and at a pace appropriate to each stage, to allow the changes to be accepted and introduced by the communities.
2- إنّ الهدف الرئيسي لتنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة هو تحويل المجتمعات المحلية الضعيفة والفقيرة، وخصوصا في المناطق الريفية، من التبعية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية أو عدم الاكتفاء الذاتي إلى اكتفاء اقتصادي واجتماعي كامل، بأسلوب تشاركي وبوتيرة تناسب كل مرحلة، بغية إتاحة الوقت للمجتمعات المحلية لكي تقبل هذه التغيرات وتأخذ بها.

4. When applying sustainable alternative livelihood development in the context of drug control, the eradication of illicit crops should not be the only immediate goal. The progressive introduction of viable alternative livelihoods in the broader context of rural development is needed to tackle the root cause of illicit crop cultivation - poverty - without severely curtailing the only available means of survival of the people involved.
4- إنّ القضاء على المحاصيل غير المشروعة لا ينبغي أن يكون الهدف المباشر الوحيد عند تطبيق مفهوم تنمية مصادر الرزق البديلة والمستدامة في سياق مكافحة المخدرات؛ فثمة حاجة إلى الأخذ تدريجيا بمصادر رزق بديلة ومستدامة في سياق التنمية الريفية الأوسع نطاقا لمواجهة السبب الجذري لزراعة المحاصيل غير المشروعة - أي الفقر - دون الحد بصرامة من مصدر البقاء الوحيد المتاح للأشخاص المعنيين.

4. When applying sustainable alternative livelihood development in the context of drug control, the eradication of illicit crops should not be the only immediate goal.
