8. Also requests the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session on the steps taken within the United Nations system and with Member States to resolve the year 2000 problem;
٨ - تطلب أيضا إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الرابعة والخمسين تقريرا عن الخطوات المتخذة داخل منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة وبالاشتراك مع الدول اﻷعضاء لحل مشكلة " عام ٢٠٠٠ " ؛

The General Assembly, in its resolution 52/233, requested the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-third session on the steps taken within the United Nations system and with Member States to resolve this problem.
وطلبت الجمعية العامة في قرارها ٥٢/٢٣٣ إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين تقريرا عن الخطوات المتخذة داخل منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة وبالاشتراك مع الدول اﻷعضاء لحل هذه المشكلة.

Reports of the Secretary-General to the General Assembly, submitted through the Commission on the Status of Women and the Economic and Social Council, allow for a systematic review of steps taken within the United Nations system to mainstream a gender perspective, and thus provide a solid basis for promoting the equal status and human rights of women and for enhancing capacities in this area.
وإن تقارير اﻷمين العام المقدمة إلى الجمعية العامة عن طريق لجنة مركز المرأة والمجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي تدعو إلى إجراء استعراض منتظم للخطوات المتخذة داخل منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة لدمج منظور الجنسين، وبذلك فإنه يوفر أساسا قويا لتعزيز المساواة في المركز وحقوق اﻹنسان للمرأة، وتعزيز القدرات في هذا المجال.

This report responds to the request of the General Assembly in its resolution 53/86 of 7 December 1998 that the Secretary-General report to it at its fifty-fourth session on the steps taken within the United Nations system and with Member States to resolve the year 2000 date conversion problem of computers.

Finally, in paragraph 8, the General Assembly also requested the Secretary-General to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-fourth session on the steps taken within the United Nations system and with Member States to resolve this problem.

The report on steps taken within the United Nations system to resolve the year 2000 date conversion problem of computers submitted by the Secretary-General (A/53/574) details the various initiatives taken by the Working Group to build awareness among Member States and permanent missions of the seriousness of the problem.

In that resolution, the Assembly requested the Secretary-General “to report to the General Assembly at its fifty-third session on the steps taken within the United Nations system and with Member States to resolve this problem”.
وقد طلبت الجمعية العامة في ذلك القرار إلى اﻷمين العام " أن يقدم إلى الجمعية العامة في دورتها الثالثة والخمسين تقريرا عن الخطوات المتخذة داخل منظومة اﻷمم المتحدة وبالاشتراك مع الدول اﻷعضاء لحل هذه المشكلة " .
