Last Thursday, thanks to the efforts of the then President, Mr. Tawfik of Egypt, and thanks to your cooperation, the Conference was able to adopt a decision on the appointment of three special coordinators, on the review of its agenda, on the expansion of its membership, and on its improved and effective functioning, respectively.
لقد تمكن المؤتمر يوم الخميس الأخير، بفضل جهود رئيسه آنذاك السيد توفيق من مصر، وبفضل تعاونكم، من اعتماد مقرر بشأن تعيين ثلاثة منسقين خاصين يُعنْون بمسائل: استعراض جدول أعمال المؤتمر، وتوسيع نطاق عضويته، وأداء أعماله بصورة محسَّنة وفعالة، على التوالي.

My immediate task, as the President was to build upon the achievements of my predecessor, Mr. Tawfik of Egypt, who forged consensus on the re-establishment of the posts of three special coordinators on the review of the agenda of the Conference, on the expansion of its membership and on its improved and effective functioning.
لقد كانت مهمتي الفورية كرئيس للمؤتمر هي أن اعتمد على إنجازات سلفي السيد توفيق من مصر الذي نجح في التوصل إلى توافق آراء بشأن إعادة إنشاء مناصب لثلاثة منسقين خاصين يتولون استعراض جدول أعمال المؤتمر وتوسيع عضويته وتحسين أداء المؤتمر وزيادة فعاليته.

As you are aware, my first and foremost task after the assumption of the presidency of the Conference was to follow up the agreement reached by my predecessor in the office, Mr.Tawfik of Egypt, on the re-appointment of three special coordinators on the review of the agenda of the Conference, on the expansion of membership, and on its improved and effective functioning.
