17. Recognize that development cooperation needs to adjust to new development challenges, in addition to tackling any unfinished business of the Millennium Development Goals. Development cooperation will need to find ways to address new challenges, such as the change in the geography of poverty, the rise in inequality, high levels of unemployment, rapid globalization and the increased need for collective approaches to global challenges.
