In light of Human Rights Council resolutions 8/7 of 7 April 2008 adopting the report ¨Protect, Respect and Remedy¨ Framework and 17/4 of 16 June 2011, in which it is noted that the rights of the child should be included when exploring the relationship between business and human rights, the Committee recommends that the State party:
28- وفي ضوء قرار مجلس حقوق الإنسان 8/7 المؤرخ 7 نيسان/أبريل 2008 الذي اعتمد التقرير المتعلق بإطار " الحماية والاحترام والانتصاف " وقراره 17/4 المؤرخ 16 حزيران/يونيه 2011، وكلاهما يدعوان إلى مراعاة حقوق الطفل عند بحث العلاقة بين المنشآت التجارية وحقوق الإنسان، توصي اللجنة الدولة الطرف بما يلي:

34. The Committee encourages the State party to pursue the efforts required to ensure a holistic approach to the implementation of the Convention, which reaffirms that the rights of the child are indivisible, interdependent and interrelated and that the rights of the child should be addressed in an integrated manner.
٣٤- وتحض اللجنة الدولة الطرف على بذل الجهود اللازمة للاهتمام، اهتماما شاملا، بتنفيذ الاتفاقية، بما يؤكد مجددا أن حقوق الطفل مترابطة لا تتجزأ، وأن تعامل على أنها كل لا يتجزأ.

43. The delegation stated that the rights of the child had been included in the curricula of military academies and various military training schools, and referred to the incorporation of human rights and sustainable development curricula in higher education.
43- وذكر الوفد أن حقوق الطفل قد أُدرجت في المناهج الدراسية للأكاديميات العسكرية ومختلف مدارس التدريب العسكري، وأشار إلى دمج حقوق الإنسان والتنمية المستدامة في المناهج الدراسية بالتعليم العالي.

6. Save the Children Solomon Islands (SCSI) stated that the rights of the child recognized in the CRC had not been codified in Solomon Islands national legislation Islands, thus the protections afforded children by the CRC were not fully reflected in the laws of the Solomon Islands.
6- وأشار فرع منظمة إنقاذ الطفولة في جزر سليمان إلى أن حقوق الطفل المعترف بها في اتفاقية حقوق الطفل لم تقنَّن في التشريعات الوطنية لجزر سليمان، وبالتالي فإن الحماية المقدمة إلى الأطفال بموجب اتفاقية حقوق الطفل لا تنعكس بالكامل في قوانين جزر سليمان.

33. Discussion took place concerning the intention of the protocol. Some delegations expressed the view that it was to strengthen the rights of the child, while others believed that the rights of the child are already present in the Convention and that the intention of the protocol is to strengthen the protection of children and the implementation of their rights, as proposed by the Committee.
٣٣- وجرى نقاش يتعلق بالقصد من البروتوكول؛ فأعربت بعض الوفود عن رأي مفاده أن القصد منه هو تعزيز حقوق الطفل، بينما رأت وفود أخرى أن حقوق الطفل واردة بالفعل في الاتفاقية وأن القصد من البروتوكول هو تعزيز حماية اﻷطفال وإعمال حقوقهم، على نحو ما اقترحته اللجنة.

64. The Committee encourages the State party to pursue the efforts required to ensure a holistic approach to the implementation of the Convention, which reaffirms that the rights of the child are indivisible, interdependent and interrelated and that the rights of the child should be addressed in an integrated manner.
٤٦- وتشجع اللجنة الدولة الطرف على مواصلة بذل الجهود اللازمة لكفالة الوصول إلى نهج كلي لتنفيذ الاتفاقية من شأنه أن يؤكد مجدداً أن حقوق الطفل غير قابلة للتجزئة، ومتكافلة، ومترابطة، وأنه ينبغي أن تعالج بطريقة متكاملة.

In view of the importance of ensuring that the rights of the child were respected in situations of armed conflict, UNICEF, which had considerable experience in that area, must receive the necessary resources to enable it to continue its work.
وبالنظر إلى أهمية كفالة احترام حقوق الطفل في حالات الصراع المسلح، ينبغي، بالنسبة لليونيسيف التي لها خبرات كبيرة في هذا المجال، أن تحصل على الموارد اللازمة التي تمكنها من مواصلة عملها.

(e) The legal provisions adopted to criminalize the recruitment of children and whether that crime comes within the competence of any specific justice-seeking mechanisms established in the context of conflict (e.g. war crimes tribunal, truth and reconciliation bodies); the safeguards adopted to ensure that the rights of the child as a victim and as a witness are respected in these mechanisms in light of the Convention on the Rights of the Child;

The Committee should adopt a clear-cut text recognizing that the rights of the child were paramount.

3. In the framework of the Convention on the Rights of the Child, UNESCO believed that the rights of the child in the field of education included the right to education, rights in education and rights through education.
٣ - وفي إطار اتفاقية حقوق الطفل، قالت إن اليونسكو تؤمن بأن حقوق الطفل في ميدان التعليم تشمل الحق في الحصول على التعليم، وحقوقا في التعليم وحقوقا من خلال التعليم.

However, so as not to be idealistic or utopian, we must realize that the rights of the child require, first and foremost, genuine political will and, equally important, the mobilization of the necessary resources, without which the situation will remain unchanged.
