34. The accusation that the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Zaire refused to conduct investigations into the human rights violations committed between 1993 and 1996 during the ethnic conflicts in Kivu is unfounded. Indeed:
٣٤ - وفيما يتعلق بالاتهام الموجه إلى المقرر الخاص المعني بحالة حقوق اﻹنسان في زائير، بخصوص رفض إجراء تحقيقات في انتهاكات حقوق اﻹنسان المرتكبة في الفترة بين عامي ١٩٩٣ و ١٩٩٦، أثناء النزاعات اﻹثنية في كيفو، فلا أساس له من الصحة، وبالفعل:

(b) The fact that the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Myanmar as well as the Special Envoy of the SecretaryGeneral for Myanmar have been unable to visit the country for more than a year, despite repeated requests;
