The process for ratifying the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism was under way.
كما أن عملية التصديق على الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب قد بدأت.

It is also party to the Convention of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf on Combating Terrorism, the Convention of the Organization of the Islamic Conference on Combating International Terrorism and the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism.
وهي أيضا طرف في اتفاقية مجلس التعاون لدول الخليج العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب، واتفاقية منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي بشأن مكافحة الإرهاب الدولي، والاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب.

Decree approving the third amendment to the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism in order to enhance the effectiveness of the Convention in combating terrorism;
بالموافقة على التعديل الثالث للاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب، وذلك لمزيد من تفعيل هذه الاتفاقية في مكافحة الإرهاب؛

Article 4, paragraph 2, of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism of 1998 provides:
- نصت المادة الرابعة من الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب لعام 1998، على ما يلي:

At the regional level, it had promoted the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism of 1998 and the two conventions adopted in 1999 under the auspices of the Organization of African Unity and the Organization of the Islamic Conference.
وعلى الصعيد الإقليمي، كانت مصر قوة دافعة في إبرام الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب لعام 1998 وكذلك اتفاقيتي مكافحة الإرهاب الدولي اللتين صدرتا في إطار منظمة الوحدة الأفريقية ومنظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي.

Accordingly, the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism, to which Morocco is party, prohibits the use of national territory to plan, organize or carry out terrorist crimes against other States.
وعلى هذا الأساس فإن الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب التي يمثل المغرب طرفا فيها تحظر استخدام الإقليم الوطني من أجل التخطيط لجرائم الإرهاب الموجهة ضد دول أخرى أو تنظيمها أو تنفيذها.

Saudi Arabia was one of the first countries to ratify the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism and the Islamic Convention on Combatting International Terrorism.
فكانت المملكة من أوائل الدول الموقِّعة على الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب، وعلى معاهدة منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي لمكافحة الإرهاب.

To call upon those Arab States which have not ratified the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism to do so;

As such, we declare our condemnation of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and call for the necessary measures to be taken to combat and eradicate it. This is fully consistent with the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism and your affirmation in the Algiers Declaration.
لذلك نعلن إدانتنا للإرهاب بجميع أشكاله ومظاهره، وندعو إلي اتخاذ التدابير الضرورية لمحاربته والقضاء عليه، كل ذلك طبقاً لما دعت إليه الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب، وما أكدتموه في إعلان الجزائر.

With regard to a definition of terrorism, the position of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the same as that which has been adopted by Arab and Islamic countries. That position emanates from the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism and the Organization of the Islamic Conference's Convention on Combating International Terrorism.
وبالنسبة لتعريف الإرهاب فإن موقف المملكة العربية السعودية هو نفس موقف الدول العربية والإسلامية المبني على ما ورد في الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب ومعاهدة منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي.

In addition to the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism, inter-Arab judicial and security cooperation is regulated by instruments that were adopted in the context of the League of Arab States, as follows:

The most important aspect of this cooperation is between the Council of Arab Ministers of the Interior and the Council of Arab Ministers of Justice, which resulted in the conclusion of the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism.
ويتمثل المظهر الأهم لهذا التعاون في علاقات التنسيق بين مجلسي وزراء الداخلية والعدل العرب والتي أثمرت عن توقيع الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب.

the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism has been incorporated in our domestic legislation and is applicable both for the purpose of convicting a criminal and for the purpose of assisting other States in suppressing such crimes, handing over criminals or requesting their extradition, as well as for the purpose of the exchange of information and documents relating to terrorist crimes.
لقد أضحت الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب جزءاً من التشريع الداخلي لدينا وقابلة للتنفيذ سواء لجهة إدانة المجرم أو الجهة المساعدة مع الدول الأخرى لقمع مثل هذه الجريمة، أو تسليم المجرم أو المطالبة بتسليمه، أو لجهة تبادل المعلومات والوثائق المتعلقة بالجرائم الإرهابية.

96. Bahrain had become a party to 11 of the international conventions on terrorism, had ratified the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism and had acceded to the Convention of the Organization of the Islamic Conference on Combating International Terrorism.
96 - ومضى يقول إن البحرين قد أصبحت طرفا في 11 اتفاقية دولية تتعلق بالإرهاب، وصدّقت على الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب، وانضمت إلى معاهدة المؤتمر الإسلامي لمكافحة الإرهاب الدولي.

It should be mentioned that the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism, signed at Cairo on 22 April 1998, to which Lebanon became a party pursuant to Law No. 57 of 31 March 1999, criminalizes such acts.
وينبغي الإشارة إلى أن الاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب الموقعة في القاهرة في 22 نيسان/أبريل 1998 والتي انضم إليها لبنان بموجب القانون رقم 57 المؤرخ 31 آذار/مارس 1999 تجرم مثل هذه الأعمال.

We welcome the fact that a large number of States are supporting the recommendation contained in the report of the Secretary-General with a view to agreeing on such a definition, in the light of the successful experience in this regard of the Organization of the Islamic Conference and the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism.

أما بالنسبة للاتفاقية العربية لمكافحة الإرهاب واتفاقية الحماية المادية للمواد النووية واتفاقية قمع الهجمات الإرهابية بالقنابل، فإنها لا تزال على جدول أعمال لجنة الشؤون الخارجية في مجلس الأمة.

the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism of 22 April 1998
:: الاتفاقية العربية لمنع الإرهاب، المبرمة بتاريخ 22 أيلول/سبتمبر 1998.

In this context, it wishes to remind Syria, in relation to its reference to the Arab Convention on the Suppression of Terrorism, that joining regional terrorism conventions cannot be viewed as an alternative to becoming a party to and implementing in domestic law all the international conventions and protocols related to terrorism.
وفي هذا السياق، تود اللجنة تذكير سورية، فيما يتعلق بإشارتها إلى الاتفاقية العربية لقمع الإرهاب، بأن الانضمام إلى الاتفاقيات الإقليمية لمكافحة الإرهاب لا يمكن اعتباره بديلا عن الانضمام إلى الاتفاقيات والبروتوكولات الدولية المتصلة بالإرهاب وإدراج أحكامها في القانون الداخلي.
