والتأكيد بأن قيام العراق بغزو واحتــلال دولة الكويت هو خرق للمواثيق وللشرعية العربيــة والدولية، ولذلك فإنه يتحتم على العراق الاعتــراف بأنه قد انتهك ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية واتفاقية الدفاع العربي المشترك وكذلك ميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة باحتلاله دولة الكويــت.

472. One of the goals of the Charter of the League of Arab States is the strengthening of links and fostering of solidarity between Member States and cooperation with international organizations in the interests of these States.
472 - ويُعد من أهداف ميثاق جامعة الدول العربية، الدعوة إلى تقوية الروابط وتعزيز التضامن بين دولها الأعضاء وإلى التعاون مع المنظمات الدولية لتحقيق مصالح تلك الدول.

Pursuant to our commitment to the principles and goals of the Charter of the League of Arab States, believing in the need to strive to achieve its goals and aims and upholding the cultural and historical foundations of the Arab identity in the face of the threats and dangers surrounding the Arab region and threatening to destabilize its security and undermine its stability,

كما شدد القرار على حتمية قيام العراق بالاعتراف الصريح والواضح بأن غزوه لدولة الكويت واحتلالها هو خرق للمواثيق، والشرعية العربية والإسلامية والدولية، وانتهاك لميثاق جامعة الدول العربية، واتفاقية الدفاع العربي المشترك، وميثاق منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي، وميثاق الأمم المتحدة.

The Supreme Council reiterated the statement made at its previous session and published in the relevant documents, to the effect that Iraq must unequivocally and clearly recognize that its attack on and occupation of Kuwait was a violation of Arab and international conventions and legitimacy, a violation of the Charter of the League of Arab States, the Joint Arab Defence Treaty and the Charter of the United Nations.
وجدد المجلس اﻷعلى، ما سبق أن أوضحه في دورته السابقة، وعبرت عنه البيانات اللاحقة، بأنه يتحتم على العراق الاعتراف الصريح والواضح بأن غزو دولة الكويت واحتلالها هو خرق للمواثيق والشرعية العربية والدولية، وانتهاك لميثاق جامعة الدول العربية، واتفاقية الدفاع العربي المشترك، وميثاق اﻷمم المتحدة.
