Resolution 61/19 of 28 November 2006, in which the General Assembly designated 25 March 2007 as the International Day for the commemoration of the two-hundredth anniversary of the Abolition of the Transatlantic Slave Trade and decided to observe it today, reflected once again the Organization's efforts to recognize slavery and the slave trade as a crime against humanity.

6. Decides to include in the provisional agenda of its sixty-third session an item entitled " Follow-up to the commemoration of the two-hundredth anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade " .

The General Assembly has thus concluded the commemoration of the two-hundredth anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade.
بهذا تكون الجمعية العامة قد اختتمت إحياء الذكرى السنوية المائتين لإنهاء تجارة الرقيق عبر المحيط الأطلسي.

Accordingly, the General Assembly is being invited to note that 2007 will mark the two-hundredth anniversary of the abolition of the Trans-Atlantic slave trade and to take a decision designating 25 March 2007 as the International Day for the commemoration of the two-hundredth anniversary of the Abolition of the Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade.
وعليه، فإن الجمعية العامة مدعوة لأن تحيط علما بأن سنة 2007 ستكون الذكرى المائتين لإلغاء تجارة الرقيق عبر المحيط الأطلسي، ولأن تتخذ قرارا بإعلان يوم 25 آذار/ مارس 2007 اليوم الدولي للاحتفال بالذكرى المائتين لإلغاء تجارة الرقيق عبر المحيط الأطلسي.

the commemoration of the two-hundredth anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade is also an opportunity to remember contemporary forms of slavery: trafficking in persons, forced prostitution, forced labour in slave conditions and the use of children in international drug trafficking.
ويتيح إحياء ذكرى مرور مائتي عام على إلغاء تجارة الرقيق عبر المحيط الأطلسي فرصة أيضا لتذكر الأشكال العصرية للرق: الاتجار بالأشخاص، والبغاء القسري، والسخرة في ظروف تتسم بالعبودية واستخدام الأطفال في الاتجار بالمخدرات على الصعيد الدولي.
