In its resolution 67/188, entitled " Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners " , the General Assembly acknowledged the work done by the open-ended intergovernmental Expert Group on the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners, and authorized the Expert Group to continue its work, within its mandate, with a view to reporting on its progress to the Commission at its twenty-second session.
ونوَّهت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 67/188 المعنون " القواعد النموذجية الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء " ، بالعمل الذي أنجزه فريق الخبراء الحكومي الدولي المفتوح العضوية المعني بالقواعد النموذجية الدنيا لمعاملة السجناء وأذنت لفريق الخبراء بأن يواصل عمله، في إطار ولايته، لتقديم تقرير عن سير عمله إلى اللجنة في دورتها الثانية والعشرين.

The core group made certain proposals regarding the structure and content of the draft outline, which, as finally agreed upon, is attached to the present report (see appendix II). The core group also decided that the paper prepared by the Rapporteur be further refined and updated and submitted to the Commission at its twenty-second session as Conference Room Paper.

The results of the second meeting of the Expert Group, including the identification of specific rules and issues for the revision of the Standard Minimum Rules, were reported to the Commission at its twenty-second session. The General Assembly, in paragraph 6 of its resolution 68/190, authorized the Expert Group to continue its work, within its mandate, with a view to reporting to the Commission at its twenty-third session, in 2014.
