The Committee is concerned that although the texts of international human rights treaties are translated into the language of the State party as well as into other languages spoken in the State party, information about the Convention and its provisions has not been brought to the attention of government officials and the public in general (art. 7).

Similarly, the Committee notes with regret that information about the Convention and its provisions has not been brought to the attention of the public in general (art. 7).
كما تأسف اللجنة لعدم تقديم معلومات عن الاتفاقية وأحكامها للجمهور عامةً (المادة 7).

422. The Committee urges the State party to make every effort to improve knowledge and understanding of the Convention and its provisions among the population in general and the rural population in particular.
422- وتحث اللجنة الدولة الطرف بأن تبذل قصارى جهدها لتحسين معرفة وفهم الاتفاقية وأحكامها لدى السكان بوجه عام وسكان الأرياف بوجه خاص.

In light of the information from the State party that the direct application of treaty provisions is judged in each specific case, taking into consideration the purpose, meaning and wording of the provisions concerned, the Committee seeks clarifying information from the State party on the status of the Convention and its provisions in domestic law.
وعلى ضوء المعلومات المقدمة من الدولة الطرف ومفادها أن التطبيق المباشر لأحكام المعاهدات يجري تقديره في كل حالة على حدة، مع مراعاة غرض ومعنى وصيغة الأحكام المعنية، فإن اللجنة تطلب إيضاحاً من الدولة الطرف بشأن مركز الاتفاقية وأحكامها في القانون المحلي.

15. The Committee welcomes the State party's action on training and awareness-raising for officials and the general public regarding the Convention and its provisions.
15- ترحب اللجنة بما اتخذته الدولة الطرف من إجراءات بشأن تدريب وتوعية المسؤولين وعامة الجمهور في مجال الاتفاقية وأحكامها.

67. The Committee calls on the State party to take immediate measures to ensure that the Convention and its provisions are incorporated into national law and become fully applicable in the domestic legal system, and to place high priority on completing its law reform in respect of the Civil and Penal Codes.

7. (a) Continue to develop its training and awareness-raising programmes on the Convention and its provisions for all officials working for bodies responsible for ensuring observance of all rights under the Convention, and for society at large;
(أ) مواصلة إعداد برامجها المتعلقة بالتدريب والتوعية في مجال الاتفاقية وأحكامها لجميع المسؤولين العاملين في الهيئات المسؤولة عن ضمان جميع الحقوق المدرجة في الاتفاقية، وكذلك للمجتمع بوجه عام؛

In conclusion: Denmark fully respects the Convention and its provisions, and the question of incorporation of the Convention is - as shown - not a question of complying or not complying with the Convention, but rather a question of the choice of methods to ensure its implementation.

Zambia welcomes the successful conclusion during the forty-eighth session of the General Assembly, of the agreement relating to the implementation of part XI of the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, which opened the way for the universal acceptance of the Convention and its provisions.
