In furtherance of the efforts of the Government of Liberia to discourage Liberian citizens from complicating the crisis in Sierra Leone and to ensure compliance with the laws and conventions relating to mercenaries, the Government of Liberia undertakes the following:

We will accordingly give due consideration to any advice or counsel emanating from those States with reference to any peace agreement which may emerge from the current diplomatic moves aimed at ending the crisis in Sierra Leone.

3. Expresses its strong support for the efforts of the ECOWAS Committee to resolve the crisis in Sierra Leone and encourages it to continue to work for the peaceful restoration of the constitutional order, including through the resumption of negotiations;

It is the view of the Government that any military intensification of the crisis in Sierra Leone will have the potential of spilling into Liberia and Guinea and thus destabilizing the two neighbouring States and further exacerbating the humanitarian and refugee crisis in the region.
