The many definitions make it necessary to amend legal texts and harmonize legislation with the principles and provisions of conventions, so as to standardize the definition of the child in civil, social and criminal matters by defining a child as a person up to the age at 18 years.

7. CRC recommended that Albania take all necessary measures to clarify the definition of the child in Albania and that existing legislation be reviewed to ensure that all children receive the protection they need.
7- وأوصت لجنة حقوق الطفل ألبانيا بأن تتخذ كل التدابير اللازمة لإيضاح تعريف الطفل في ألبانيا وباستعراض التشريعات القائمة لكفالة تلقي جميع الأطفال الحماية التي هم بحاجة إليها(21).

Furthermore, with reference to the Committee's observations under the Convention (CRC/C/SGP/CO/2-3, para. 28), the Committee recommends that the State party harmonize the definition of the child in its national laws, in line with the Convention, and extend the Children and Young Persons Act to cover all persons under the age of 18.
