17. At its 11th meeting, on 23 February, on the proposal of the Chairman, the Committee decided to take note of the report of the Secretary-General on the follow-up to the first and special sessions of the Committee (E/C.13/1996/2) (see chap. I, sect. C).
١٧ - قررت اللجنة في جلستها الحادية عشرة، المعقودة في ٢٣ شباط/فبراير، وبناء على اقتراح الرئيس، أن تحيط علما بتقرير اﻷمين العام عن متابعة الدورتين اﻷولى والاستثنائية اللتين عقدتهما اللجنة (E/C.13/1996/2) )انظر الفصل اﻷول، الفرع جيم(.

1. At its special session, the Committee on New and Renewable Sources of Energy and on Energy for Development requested a report of the Secretary-General on the follow-up to the first and special sessions of the Committee. 1/ The present report has been prepared in response to the Committee's request.
١ - طلبت اللجنة المعنية بمصادر الطاقة الجديدة والمتجددة وبتسخير الطاقة ﻷغراض التنمية، إلى اﻷمين العام أن يقدم تقريرا عن متابعة أعمال الدورتين اﻷولى والاستثنائية للجنة)١(. وقد أعد هذا التقرير استجابة لطلب اللجنة.
