4. For its consideration of the substantive agenda item (item 3) the Expert Meeting had before it a report by the UNCTAD secretariat entitled “Opportunities for vertical diversification in the Food Processing Sector in Developing Countries” (TD/B/COM.1/EM.2/2).
٤- كان معروضا على اجتماع الخبراء، بغية النظر في البند الموضوعي من جدول اﻷعمال )البند ٣(، تقرير أعدته أمانة اﻷونكتاد بعنوان " فرص التنويع الرأسي في قطاع تجهيز اﻷغذية في البلدان النامية " )TD/B/COM.1/EM.2/2(.

The Commission, taking into account the recommendations put forward by experts on the Food Processing Sector in Developing Countries in their report (TD/B/COM.1/8), agreed on the following specific recommendations on agenda item 3:
إن اللجنة، وقد أخذت في اعتبارها التوصيات التي تقدم بها الخبراء بشأن قطاع تجهيز اﻷغذية في البلدان النامية في تقريرهم (TD/B/COM.1/8)، اتفقت على توجيه التوصيات المحددة التالية بشأن البند ٣ من جدول اﻷعمال:

The experts will have at their disposal a report prepared by the UNCTAD secretariat on " Opportunities for vertical diversification in the Food Processing Sector in Developing Countries " (TD/B/COM.1/EM.2/2) It analyses the market situation in four commodity groups: tropical beverages, fish, horticultural products, and meat.
وسيكون متاحاً للخبراء تقرير أعدته أمانة اﻷونكتاد بشأن " فرص التنويع الرأسي في قطاع تجهيز اﻷغذية في البلدان النامية " (TD/B/COM.1/EM.2/2)، يحلل حالة اﻷسواق في مجموعات سلعية أربع: المشروبات الاستوائية، اﻷسماك، منتجات زراعة البساتين، واللحوم.

1. In accordance with the agreed conclusions adopted by the Commission on Trade in Goods and Services, and Commodities at the closing meeting of its first session on 21 February 1997, 1/ the Expert Meeting on Vertical Diversification in the Food Processing Sector in Developing Countries was held at the Palais des Nations, Geneva, from 1 to 3 September 1997.
١- طبقا للاستنتاجات المتفق عليها والمعتمدة من لجنة التجارة في السلع والخدمات والسلع اﻷساسية في الجلسة الختامية لدورتها اﻷولى، المعقودة في ٢١ شباط/فبراير ١٩٩٧)١(، عقد اجتماع الخبراء المعني بالتنويع الرأسي في قطاع تجهيز اﻷغذية في البلدان النامية في قصر اﻷمم، بجنيف، في الفترة من ١ الى ٣ أيلول/سبتمبر ١٩٩٧.
