For the purpose of conducting the fourth review and appraisal of the International Plan of Action on Ageing and reviewing the preparations for the observance of the International Year of Older Persons in 1999, the Commission, in accordance with Council decision 1996/243, convened an informal in-session ad hoc working group.
ولغرض إجراء عملية الاستعراض والتقييم الرابعة لخطة العمل الدولية المتعلقة بالشيخوخة، واستعراض اﻷعمال التحضيرية المتعلقة بالاحتفال بالسنة الدولية لكبار السن في عام ١٩٩٩، دعت اللجنة، عملا بمقرر المجلس ١٩٩٦/٢٤٣، إلى عقد فريق عامل مخصص غير رسمي في أثناء الدورة.

The Commission was also informed that the draft report of the Secretary-General on the fourth review and appraisal of the World Population Plan of Action (A/CONF.171/PC/3) had been completed and would be discussed by the Preparatory Committee for the International Conference on Population and Development at its third session.
وأحيطت اللجنة علما بأن مشروع تقرير اﻷمين العام عن عملية الاستعراض والتقييم الرابعة لخطة العمل العالمية للسكان (A/CONF.171/PC/3) اكتملت وستناقشها اللجنة التحضيرية للمؤتمر الدولي المعني بالسكان في دورتها الثالثة.

One report to the General Assembly (fifty-second session) on the progress in preparation for the International Year of Older Persons and one report to the Commission for Social Development (thirty-fifth session) on the fourth review and appraisal of the implementation of the International Plan of Action on Ageing.

In accordance with Economic and Social Council decision 1996/243, the Commission for Social Development is expected to establish, at its thirty-fifth session, an in-session open-ended ad hoc working group for the purpose of carrying out the fourth review and appraisal of the Plan of Action and reviewing preparations for the observance of the International Year of Older Persons in 1999.
ووفــقا لمقرر المجلــس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي ١٩٩٦/٢٤٣ ينتظر من لجنة التنمية الاجتماعية أن تنشئ في دورتها الخامسة والثلاثين فريقا عاملا مخصصا مفتوح العضوية للعمل أثناء الدورة بقصد إجراء عملية الاستعراض والتقييم الرابعة لخطة العمل واستعراض اﻷعمال التحضيرية المتصلة بالاحتفال بالسنة الدولية لكبار السن في عام ١٩٩٩.

41. At the 10th meeting, on 5 March, the representative of the Dominican Republic, on behalf of the Ad Hoc Working Group on the fourth review and appraisal of the Implementation of the International Plan of Action on Ageing and Preparations for the International Year of Older Persons, introduced a draft resolution (E/CN.5/1997/L.8), entitled " Fourth review and appraisal of the International Plan of Action on Ageing " .
١٤ - في الجلسة العاشرة، المعقودة في ٥ آذار/ مارس، قدم ممثل الجمهورية الدومينيكية، بالنيابة عن الفريق العامل المخصص المعني بعملية الاستعراض والتقييم الرابعة لتنفيذ خطة العمل الدولية المتعلقة بالشيخوخة واﻷعمال التحضيرية للسنة الدولية لكبار السن، مشروع القرار )E/CN.5/1997/L.8( المعنون " عملية الاستعراض والتقييم الرابعة لخطة العمل الدولية المتعلقة بالشيخوخة " .
