It is therefore clear that the restriction on freedom of expression imposed by the Gayssot Act satisfied all the three elements required for the applicability of article 19, paragraph 3, and was not inconsistent with article 19, paragraph 2, and consequently, the conviction of the author under the Gayssot Act was not violative of his freedom of expression guaranteed under article 19, paragraph 2.

3.1 The author contends that the " Gayssot Act " curtails his right to freedom of expression and academic freedom in general, and considers that the law targets him personally ( " lex Faurissonia " ).
