Upon instructions from my Government I have the honour to transmit herewith the enclosed document prepared by my Government in response to the interim report on the situation of human rights in the Sudan prepared by Mr. Gáspár Bíró and contained in document A/48/601.
بناء على تعليمات من حكومتي، أتشرف بأن أحيل طي هذا الوثيقة التي أعدتها حكومتي ردا على التقرير المؤقت عن حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في السودان الذي أعده السيد غاسبار بيرو، الوارد في الوثيقة A/48/601.

1. Takes note with appreciation of the interim report on the situation of human rights in Iraq See A/50/734. submitted by the Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights on the situation of human rights in Iraq and the observations, conclusions and recommendations contained therein;
١ - تحيط علما مع التقدير بالتقرير المؤقت عن حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في العراق)٥( الذي قدمه المقرر الخاص للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان المعني بحالة حقوق الانسان فى العراق، وبالملاحظات والاستنتاجات والتوصيات الواردة فيه؛

Secretary-General Upon instructions from my Government, I have the honour to enclose herewith the text of the response by the Government of the Sudan to the interim report on the situation of human rights in the Sudan (A/49/539) prepared by Mr. Gáspár Bíró, in accordance with Commission on Human Rights resolution 1994/79 of 9 March 1994, and Economic and Social Council decision 1994/265 of 25 July 1994.
بناء على تعليمات من حكومتي، أتشرف بأن أحيل اليكم طيه نص رد حكومة السودان على التقرير المرحلي عن حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في السودان (A/49/539) الذي أعده السيد غاسبار بيرو عملا بقرار لجنة حقوق اﻹنسان ١٩٩٤/٧٩ المؤرخ ١ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٤، ومقرر المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي ١٩٩٤/٢٦٥، المؤرخ ٢٥ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٤.

1. The Secretary-General has the duty to inform the members of the General Assembly that the interim report on the situation of human rights in the Sudan will not be submitted to the Assembly at its fifty-third session, as a result of the resignation in March 1998 of Mr. Gáspár Bíró, Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights.

25. the interim report on the situation of human rights in the Islamic Republic of Iran (A/48/526) was a deliberate attempt at fault-finding.
٢٥ - وأكد أن التقرير المؤقت عن حالة حقوق الانسان في جمهورية ايران الاسلامية (A/48/526) يشكل محاولة مقصودة للبحث عن أوجه قصور.

7. The Special Rapporteurs on the situation of human rights in the Sudan had repeatedly been invited to visit the Sudan to observe human rights progress, and the interim report on the situation of human rights in Darfur prepared by the group of experts mandated by the Human Rights Council in its resolution 4/8 had called Sudan's cooperation excellent.
7 - وقال إن المقررين الخاصين لحالة حقوق الإنسان في السودان قد دعوا مراراً إلى زيارة السودان ليشهدوا التقدم الذي حدث في مجال حقوق الإنسان، كما أن التقرير المؤقت عن حالة حقوق الإنسان في دارفور التي أعدته مجموعة الخبراء التي عينها مجلس حقوق الإنسان بمقتضى قراره 4/8، وصفت تعاون السودان بأنه ممتاز.

يتشرف اﻷمين العام بأن يوافي أعضاء الجمعية العامة بالتقرير المؤقت عن حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في كوبا، الذي أعده السيد كارل - يوهان غروث، المقرر الخاص للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان، وفقا للفقرة ١٢ من قرار اللجنة ١٩٩٥/٦٦ المؤرخ ٧ آذار/مارس ١٩٩٥ ولمقرر المجلس الاقتصادي والاجتماعي ١٩٩٥/٢٧٧ المؤرخ ٢٥ تموز/يوليه ١٩٩٥.

Mr. TIN (Myanmar), referring to the interim report on the situation of human rights in Myanmar, said it was regrettable that the Special Rapporteur of the Commission on Human Rights had given the impression that the Government of Myanmar was unwilling to cooperate with the United Nations and condoned the innumerable human rights violations which, according to the report, had been committed in Myanmar.
٢٤ - السيد فاين بن )ميانمار(: أشار إلى التقرير المرحلي عن حالة حقوق اﻹنسان في ميانمار فقال إنه يأسف ﻷن المقرر الخاص للجنة حقوق اﻹنسان، يوحي بأن حكومة بلده ترفض التعاون مع اﻷمم المتحدة وأنها متورطة في عدد لا يحصى من انتهاكات حقوق اﻹنسان التي يزعم أنها ارتكبت في بلده.
