(ب) أن تقوم الشعبة، بغية توعية واضعي السياسات الوطنية بمنافع المشاركة في النظام القانوني الدولي للمحيطات، بنشر معلومات عن المنافع الاقتصادية المحتملة وإسهامها في تحقيق التنمية الاجتماعية والاقتصادية، وذلك من خلال إجراء دراسات حالات فردية أو تحليل استشرافي.

Universal participation by Member States in the Convention is an important goal for the Division. To increase participation, the Division should ensure that it has the capacity to respond to requests of Member States for briefings and to promote greater awareness among policy makers of the practical economic benefits that can be derived from participating in the international legal regime for the oceans.
