We draw your attention to paragraph 12 of the resolution in which the Council of the League requests that the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council should be informed of the importance of maintaining the issue on the list of matters of which the Security Council is seized until Iran ends its occupation of the three Arab islands and the United Arab Emirates regains its full sovereignty over them.

In response, the Committee requested the Secretariat to place the issue on the agenda of the thirty-fifth meeting and to prepare an information document on the subject.

In that connection, he stressed that the conflict in Nagorny Karabakh had no religious element and appealed to the States members of OIC to consider the issue on the merits, not on the basis of religious affiliation.
