7- طلبت الجمعية العامة، في قرارها 68/185، إلى الأمين العام أن يشرع في تنظيم الاجتماعات التحضيرية الإقليمية الأربعة للمؤتمر الثالث عشر وأن يوفِّر الموارد اللازمة لمشاركة أقل البلدان نموًّا في تلك الاجتماعات، وفقاً للممارسة المتبعة سابقاً.

In its resolution 67/184, the General Assembly requested the Secretary-General to facilitate the organization of regional preparatory meetings for the Thirteenth Congress and to make available the necessary resources for the participation of the least developed countries in those meetings and in the Congress itself, in accordance with past practice and in consultation with Member States.

The necessary resources will be provided within the overall appropriations of the programme budget for the bienniums 1998-1999 and 2000-2001, covering the various requirements, including the organization of regional preparatory meetings, the participation of the least developed countries in those meetings and in the Congress itself, and the implementation of appropriate public information programmes.
وستقدم الموارد اللازمة للاضطلاع بهذه المهام في إطار الاعتمادات الكلية في الميزانية البرنامجية لفترتي السنتين ١٩٩٨-١٩٩٩ و ٢٠٠٠-٢٠٠١، التي تُغطي الاحتياجات المختلفة، بما في ذلك تنظيم اجتماعات تحضيرية إقليمية، واشتراك أقل البلدان نموا في هذه الاجتماعات وفي المؤتمر نفسه، وتنفيذ برامج إعلامية ملائمة.
